About The Position

Imperial is seeking a Reliability Engineer for its Cold Lake operation in northern Alberta. This role supports and leads reliability programs for the site, ensuring equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and dependably. The engineer will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify improvements, solve technical challenges, and prevent equipment failures. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate interested in problem-solving, data analysis, continuous improvement, and impacting business performance.

Requirements

  • Canadian accredited (or equivalent) engineering degree
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Able to work individually, as well as in a team situation, with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to safety on and off the job

Responsibilities

  • Work with multi-functional engineering, operations, and maintenance teams, both in Canada and overseas, to support our reliability programs.
  • Analyze equipment performance and failure trends to identify reliability issues and recommend practical solutions that improve safety, uptime, and efficiency.
  • Support root cause investigations for equipment failures and operational issues, working with cross-functional teams to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain reliability strategies including condition monitoring programs for critical assets.
  • Use data and performance metrics to track equipment health, identify improvement opportunities, and support asset management and continuous improvement initiatives.
