Electrical Reliability Engineer (MPL AIRE - Electrical Reliability Team) Grade 11-12 Overview The primary role of the Electrical Reliability Engineer is to provide engineering and technical support of electrical pipeline equipment and infrastructure across the Marathon Pipe Line regions. This position will support all MPL facilities from a central location such as the Findlay Campus. It is preferred that the employee work from the Findlay Campus, but exceptions can be made under the right circumstances.

Requirements

  • Degree: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or multiple years of field experience will be considered.
  • Minimum Technical Years Experience Required: Three (3) years or more of pipeline operations, engineering or maintenance experience (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ETAP
  • NEC, NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B working knowledge
  • Protective Relay installation and programming
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player

Nice To Haves

  • PDMA motor analysis (hands-on experience is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the electrical PM, Predictive Maintenance and Condition-Based Maintenance programs
  • Responsible for MPL and designated L&S standards
  • Overall Electrical Safety Program
  • Overall Electrical Maintenance Program
  • Keep up to date on new technology and industry developments
  • Assist with incident reports, failure analysis bulletins, Taproot investigations etc.
  • Assist with critical equipment procurement and management
  • Assist with SAP and electrical equipment asset management.
  • Assist other field SMEs when needed
  • Maintain equipment vendor relationships and audit vendor processes
  • Advise team on determination to repair or replacement equipment
  • Provide cost and schedule estimates for equipment repair/replacement activities
  • Support and assist with schedule impacts for equipment downtime/replacement/repair
  • Provide field construction guidance for maintenance and expansion projects
  • Assist with the technical development of Electrical Technicians and Engineering Project Leaders
  • Provide offsite (shop) equipment repair, refurbishment, and testing expertise
  • Evaluate and communicate likelihood of equipment failure, repair/replacement time frames, costs and other pertinent information for individual pieces of critical equipment
  • Assist with project planning including decommissioning /commissioning/recommissioning of electrical equipment and systems
  • Helping MPL, MPLX and MPC achieve department and company goals, including the implementation of new technology, safety-improvement and energy-saving initiatives.
