About The Position

As a Reliability Engineer at John Deere Construction and Forestry in Dubuque, IA, you will support design solutions for product delivery initiatives by applying reliability methodologies and tools. You will identify areas of opportunity in durability, evaluate enhancement strategies, and monitor ongoing progress. This role involves collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and design personnel to drive improvements in reliability. You will analyze and predict the reliability of Backhoe and Landscape Loaders by identifying potential failure modes, and optimize critical business metrics including machine failure rates, cost per unit, and overall durability performance. Additionally, you will conduct data analysis and leverage quantitative techniques to generate actionable business insights and decision-support models, assess the impact of reliability on system life cycle costs, and support the development of product design standards, guideline documentation, DTWs, and engineering analysis standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in at least one of the following areas: hydraulics, drivetrain, electrical, or product validation
  • Experience/exposure in design or product validation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Capable of carrying out multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, capabilities, and backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-functional experience related to PV&V, design, and/or manufacturing teams
  • Experience utilizing reliability data analysis techniques in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to innovate and implement new processes
  • Experience with analytic tools SQL, Python, R Shiny or Cloud data lake services
