As the Reliability Engineer, you will act as Dyson’s ‘early warning system’—spot reliability and quality trends in the field, update relevant business areas, and drive quick, effective closure of new issues to minimize disruption. You will analyze weekly part usage, repair, and retail returns data for the Americas, investigate customer comments on failed parts, and produce Pareto analyses to highlight key failure modes. You will collaborate with the Market Insights Analyst on online review sentiment analysis and proactively seek opportunities to improve product reliability and quality. The role involves arranging collection and analysis of failed samples, reviewing call center/service center data, and providing feedback to these teams. You will also work within the global team to develop and drive design improvements, ensuring timely and effective communication with engineering and quality teams. Additionally, you will contribute technically to product improvement efforts, audit new models pre-launch, assist with product trials, and monitor product launches for trends. You will identify opportunities to improve reliability/quality to meet Dyson’s goals, deliver issue reports, and investigate product safety issues. As the engineering contact point across the Americas, you will provide expertise on product, technology, and general engineering principles, and support PR and James Dyson Foundation initiatives. You will also serve as a territory expert for global RDD, supplying region-specific knowledge. Additional duties include taking on new activities, driving operational improvements, creating supporting documentation, and proactively identifying and solving problems.
