About The Position

Microchip’s fast-growing Microcontroller & Analog business is looking for a Reliability Engineer to bring new products to the market. Based in our Chandler, Arizona Corporate Headquarters, you would be part of the Reliability Engineering team tasked with supporting the development of new Microcontroller & Analog products. In addition, you will participate in shaping and influencing our overall Reliability strategies and techniques. This position is an individual contributor role working alongside a team of experienced engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS with minimum of 2 years industry experience or MS degree in Electrical/Computer or related engineering field.
  • Strong fundamentals of transistor level integrated circuits and device physics.
  • Experience with Reliability qualification methods including: HTOL, HAST, T/C, Endurance and ESD/LU.
  • Experience in New Product board Design bring-up.
  • Experience with testing digital and analog circuits in production test or burn-in environment.
  • Experience in common scripting languages (i.e. Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Strong lab skills with assorted test/measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, power supply, source meter, function generator, network analyzer, etc.).
  • Self-motivated and take ownership of solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must adhere to Microchips guiding values.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience performing product qualification techniques for automotive, Commercial and Aero/Defense products.
  • Some experience working on a Product Development team (i.e., Test, Product and Design engineers) to support the development and qualification of new products and reliability stress plans or similar.
  • Lab skills with assorted test/measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, power supply, source meter, function generator, network analyzer, etc.) valued but not required.
  • Some experience in PCB hardware design and ability to read board schematics and drawings.
  • Experience and good working knowledge of JEDEC and MIL-STD reliability test specifications.
  • Experience with DLT/HTOL burn-in ovens or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Working with New Product Development teams to create Qualification plans and meet scheduled release dates.
  • Developing and performing die level reliability testing on Microchip devices.
  • Participating in product qualification techniques for automotive, Commercial and Aero/Defense products.
  • Working on a Product Development team (i.e., Test, Product and Design engineers) to support the development and qualification of new products and reliability stress plans or similar.
  • Working with vendors to develop burn-in board solutions as needed.
  • Operating effectively in a team environment while contributing to the team's success.
