About The Position

You will be the Reliability Engineer for the Reliability & Test Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for guaranteeing that every component and sub assembly meets the highest reliability standards through rigorous Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and accelerated aging test programs that validate product lifecycle performance. As the Reliability Engineer you will own the end to end reliability analysis process and develop test plans that uncover and mitigate risk early in the product development cycle. You’ll work side by side with design engineers, material scientists, test laboratories, and program managers to translate reliability data into actionable design improvements and ensure mission critical performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 1-3 years of hands on reliability engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in component level FMECA and accelerated aging/thermal cycling tests.
  • Strong root cause analysis, risk assessment, and data interpretation capabilities; comfortable working with large data sets and generating actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with reliability analysis standards (such as MIL STD 1629A, IEC 60812, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of failure physics, degradation mechanisms, and material behavior under stress.
  • Ability to develop and interpret test plans using ASTM, IEC, or MIL test methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent analyses and test programs, meet deadlines, and maintain documentation control.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups.
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • The selected candidate must possess an active Final Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Model-Based Engineering tools (i.e. Cameo)
  • Experience using reliability software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Weibull++, ANSYS Reliability) and statistical tools (Minitab, R, Python)
  • Practical hands on experience with hardware test and troubleshooting.
  • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors in the Reliability field of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain component level FMECA worksheets in compliance with MIL STD 1629A (or equivalent) and internal standards.
  • Identify failure modes, root causes, and their effects on system performance.
  • Assign criticality rankings and document clear mitigation strategies.
  • Keep FMECA results current throughout the product lifecycle and capture lessons learned for future projects.
  • Define accelerated life test objectives and calculate acceleration factors using Arrhenius, Coffin Manson, or other appropriate models.
  • Coordinate test execution with internal labs and external vendors, ensuring test setups meet the defined objectives.
  • Analyze test data, compare results to reliability predictions, and update reliability models accordingly.
  • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to cross functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Support the development of reliability driven design guidelines and best practice documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing reliability insight that influences architecture decisions.
