About The Position

Candidate will support the IRST Reliability, Maintainability & Testability team. Program and configurations include, but not limited to IRST F18, Legion, Legion-ES and IRST international. Primary role includes support and development of testability / Built In Test (BIT) concepts, processes, analyses and procedures for the IRST portfolio. Support the system design team to define and influence design for testability to ensure capabilities in the production and field. Support definition of testability requirements, test strategies and test concepts for achieving fault detection and fault isolation objectives to minimize system down time and expedite repairs for production and field. Support refinement of existing Built-In-Test (BIT) architecture concepts, allocate requirements, and mature design functions and features for BIT. Identify opportunities to maximize BIT capabilities to minimize test equipment logistics and support footprint. Support definition of conceptual requirements for test equipment, including required functions, interface, and operational requirements. Support testability analyses with a focus on BIT. Additional duties include assisting Reliability team in identifying and resolving electromechanical technical issues and hardware/software integration. Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting technical problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, analyze data to identify failure trends and recommending actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Responsibilities include interacting with subcontractors, report writing, white paper writing, software/hardware integration/troubleshooting, FRACAS, Engineering Screening Board (ESB), Engineering Change Board (ECB), Failure Review Boards (FRB), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) support, and Corrective Action Board (CAB). Recognize opportunities for improvement based on failure data. Candidate should have the ability to learn hardware/software and troubleshooting skill sets. Interact with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers during the investigation, documentation and resolution of system/test failures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college.
  • Strong experience with Python or Java.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, motivated and result oriented.
  • Proficiency/experience using Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using failure analysis (FRACAS) and other types of root cause analysis, in support of industrial facilities asset system.
