About The Position

The Reliability Electrician IV performs the functions of an Electrician, focusing on troubleshooting and repairing machinery electrical problems, ensuring safe work methods, and maintaining facilities support equipment during off-shift hours. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, managing inventory-controlled items, and ensuring a clean and safe work area. The position requires adherence to lockout/tag-out procedures and communication with the Health/Safety & Environmental Manager for any unsafe practices. The electrician will also complete work orders in the CMMS/MP2 System and serve as a Calibration Source for Electrical Calibrations. The role requires a high school education or equivalent, degree/training as an Electrician, and at least two years of experience as an Industrial Electrician. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required, and to work without close supervision. Basic mechanical knowledge is also required.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Degree/training as Electrician.
  • At least two (2) years experience as Electrician - Industrial Electrician preferred.
  • Experience with machine and facility power and wiring - indoor and outdoor.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. Process.
  • Must be able to work without close supervision.
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Must complete orientation training session.
  • Must complete job requirements training as defined in the training procedures.
  • Must complete EQA/Pride Training.
  • Must complete Quality System Training.
  • Must complete MSDS/Chemical Right To Know Training.
  • Must complete ARC Flash Training (GP5292).
  • Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and earplugs.
  • Responsible for materials and supplies issued.
  • Responsible for equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must provide required mechanical hand tools.
  • Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
  • Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment at all times while in the designated areas.
  • Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Electrician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
  • Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy.
  • Works normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Comply with all environmental procedures and programs.
  • Troubleshoot all machinery electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Determine cause of electrical failures and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence.
  • Determine if mechanical condition exist that cause electrical failures and communicate the problem to the proper personnel.
  • Instruct and assist in the repairs as requested by supervision.
  • Follow up on work tasks performed to be sure that they have been done correctly.
  • Responsible for the electrical and mechanical of facilities support equipment during off shift working hours.
  • Contact the proper personnel for assistance with off-shift repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned by supervision.
  • Tag defective inventory-controlled items with equipment name, number, Shaw Part number and indication of problem, then return to supply room for repairs and/or replacement.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and perform all work in a safe manner.
  • Follow the Lock-out and Tag-out procedures when performing work on equipment.
  • Contact the Health/Safety & Environmental Manager for approval if management requests an unsafe practice.
  • Willing to work various hours on any shift or shifts as may be needed.
  • Be available "on call" during scheduled times to provide advice, assistance, and physical support.
  • Complete work orders as assigned by supervision.
  • Write out all worked requested by supervision in the CMMS/MP2 System.
  • Perform repairs prior to receiving the work order for equipment down time.
  • Attend weekly safety meeting or read the weekly safety message and sign off.
  • Note temporary repairs on the work order.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with instructions, work orders, and service manuals.
  • Complete work orders you perform or work orders assigned to you in CMMS.
  • Serve as Calibration Source for Electrical Calibrations.
  • Assists other Maintenance department personnel as needed.
