About The Position

This position is in Cargill's Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a range of ingredients and products including poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa, and chocolate. The Reliability and Production Excellence Engineer will apply technical knowledge to drive continuous improvement in process and asset reliability by identifying and eliminating defects. This role will also provide expertise to develop production excellence processes and management systems aimed at enhancing operational performance and value across manufacturing plants. The engineer will execute key operational processes to meet identified metrics, partner with teams to ensure reliability engineering strategies are fulfilled, and execute necessary work for the production team using established principles and standards to solve complex problems and improve the organization's products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

  • Predictive maintenance technologies experience
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP or similar Platforms

Responsibilities

  • Implement complex reliability excellence activities and identify and prioritize reliability engineering value creation opportunities.
  • Ensure an aligned continuous improvement process to effectively create, prioritize and handle a portfolio of projects and initiatives to maximize opportunity and value capture.
  • Complete risk analysis of new designs and processes and maintain the mechanical and electrical integrity of new installations and existing systems.
  • Oversee operations by analyzing and developing recommendations regarding failures and lost production, identify and implement solutions to improve the system, standard work and processes.
  • Perform the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.
  • Oversee the execution of measurement processes and monitor progress to identify variances and needed corrections.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to maintenance repairs and production in reliability related processes and the identification of critical spares.
  • Work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
