POSITION SUMMARY The Release Manager owns release management for a Salesforce Center of Innovation, coordinating a high volume of changes across Integration, Stage, and Production environments. You will run the release calendar, prepare change request packages, carry them through the Change Control Board, and support the go/no-go call. When something breaks in production, the hotfix path is yours: validation, expedited approvals, deployment, and rollback readiness. The role suits someone who stays calm against a deadline and is disciplined about documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise IT, Salesforce, release management, or closely related technical services.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect.
  • Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud or other FedRAMP environments.
  • GitLab and DevSecOps pipeline operations.
  • Working familiarity with Salesforce CLI, VS Code with Salesforce extensions, and scratch orgs.
  • ServiceNow or a comparable IT service management platform, plus Jira and Confluence.
  • Prior federal or public sector delivery experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own release readiness coordination, release calendars, deployment communications, and go/no-go support for assigned changes.
  • Coordinate major, minor, and hotfix releases and maintain release schedules across Salesforce environments.
  • Confirm that implementation and rollback procedures, approvals, dependencies, and technical resources are aligned before any production change.
  • Prepare change request packages covering implementation detail, rollback plans, responsible resources, and approvals.
  • Present and update changes at the Change Control Board.
  • Maintain change control artifacts so every production change has a complete and auditable record.
  • Plan and execute urgent hotfixes, including technical validation, expedited approvals, deployment, and rollback preparedness.
  • Communicate quickly and clearly to stakeholders through the life of an urgent change.
  • Support after-hours release readiness where required.
  • Review Technical Design Documents for technical soundness, standards compliance, security, and release readiness.
  • Support DevSecOps pipeline operations, including repository setup and resolution of pipeline issues.
  • Track deployment outcomes and drive down the causes of failed deployments.
