The Polk County Circuit Court in Dallas, Oregon, is hiring a Release Assistance Officer/Criminal Floater. In this role, most of your time will be spent interviewing defendants in custody and determining which individuals, upon release, are most likely to appear in court, are unlikely to commit new offenses, and do not pose a threat to themselves or the community. You will be responsible for ensuring that pretrial defendants comply with their supervised release agreements and for gathering information to determine defendants’ eligibility for court appointed attorneys. You will occasionally testify in court regarding release decisions, compliance, and revocations. Additionally, you will cross-train on different court operations to assist as needed. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
