About The Position

This position will be filled as a Relay Technician I, II, III or Sr based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing. The role involves performing tests, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations on relays, meters, telemeters, supervisory control, carrier current equipment, and other similar apparatus and related equipment in laboratory and field. Responsibilities include assisting in storm restoration, operating computer applications for testing, connecting and reading meters, taking notes, preparing reports, performing housekeeping, using hand tools, handling ladders, operating company vehicles and equipment, assisting in switching, and assisting in constructing, installing, and maintaining relaying and associated equipment.

Requirements

Willing and able to learn the Company's safety rules.
Willing and able to administer all approved methods of resuscitation.
Willing and able to render practical first aid.
Maintain automobile and truck driver's license, TWIC card CIP background check or other applicable license, background check, or ID.
Be responsible for Company tools, instruments, and equipment.
Willing and able to become familiar with relay and spare parts stock.
Practical working knowledge of electrical circuits and equipment.
Willing and able to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
Willing and able to perform routine operations of moderate complexity and variety.
Willing and able to learn the Company's electrical and mechanical tagging rules and requirements for a qualified switchman.
Willing and able to obtain working knowledge of Company’s practices and standards as related to work.
Satisfactorily complete all necessary and mandatory training requirements associated with the position.
Must be willing and able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Have strength and endurance adequate for arduous labor as circumstances may require.
Willing and able to work extended hours in support for overtime or emergency work including overtime.
Good hand-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and color vision.
Be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
Willing and able to work under unusual surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
Possess keen faculties of observation.

Successful completion of the EEI TECH test.
Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position.
