About The Position

Lakeland Credit Union (LCU) is seeking a passionate and motivated Relationship Manager to join their team. In this role, the manager will build and maintain relationships with business members by providing commercial credit and cash management solutions. The position is crucial for promoting business-banking services to both existing and potential members, contributing to the credit union's dedication to being a trusted financial partner and fostering long-term member success.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of business lending experience.
  • A university degree in a business-related field or experience in lieu of education.
  • An understanding of credit granting and Business Banking products.
  • Skills in business development and portfolio management.
  • Ability to forge meaningful relationships with members, businesses, and coworkers alike.
  • A passion for delivering personalized service and a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the member’s history, current status and goals through proactive monitoring and management of business relationships, gathering essential information to assess business needs and credit worthiness.
  • Offer tailored financial advice to foster long-term member relationships, with consistent follow-ups and referrals for credit union products and services.
  • Underwrite and recommend loans for approval that align with established authority levels, ensuring informed decision making.
  • Manage a portfolio consisting of up to $50M and up to approximately 125 business borrowers, focusing on daily decisions, new credit requests, annual reviews, risk mitigation while emphasizing business development and member retention to achieve set portfolio targets.
  • Oversee moderately complex business, commercial and agricultural accounts with lending needs ranging from $250K and $1M ensuring effective management of daily operational decisions and annual reviews.
  • Maintain accountability for following up on delinquent accounts and implementing systematic collection procedure of problem accounts, promptly initiating or recommending appropriate action to minimize risk.
