About The Position

This role is responsible for developing and managing commercial banking relationships, focusing on acquiring and retaining profitable clients. The Relationship Manager will source new low-cost deposits, generate Treasury fee income, and build primary bank relationships. Key activities include identifying cross-selling opportunities, coordinating with product partners, and resolving customer issues related to advisory services, Treasury solutions, and products. The position involves making presentations to clients, achieving sales targets, and representing the bank in community functions. The role also requires anticipating customer trends to recommend products and services, providing advisory support, managing deposit accounts, and ensuring customer inquiries are handled efficiently. The individual will receive coaching and mentoring to onboard new relationships and activate bank products, working closely with the LOB manager. Compliance with banking regulations such as BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, and OFAC is mandatory, including completing annual BSA training and reporting suspicious activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience and success in meeting sales goals, managing client relationships and experience in credit, credit support or financial analysis.
  • Superior knowledge of commercial banking products and services (both credit and non-credit).
  • Proven ability to manage high-end Middle Market Clients.
  • Ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships within and outside the bank.
  • Understanding or willing to learn about all bank offerings.
  • Full utilization of sales automation tools and related technologies.
  • Superior sales presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills, evidenced both internally and externally.
  • Persuasion, Diplomacy, Negotiation and closing skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of Relationship Manager and/or Business Development Officer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Sources new COIs and acts as primary contact for new business development which focuses on the acquisition of complex and profitable commercial relationships.
  • Responsible for client relationships, including attracting and retaining new clients and strengthening current relationships.
  • Focuses on sourcing new low-cost deposits, new Treasury fee income and building primary bank relationships.
  • Maximizes cross-sales opportunities through customer profiling with the goal of cultivating interest in new bank products and services.
  • Coordinates with other product partners to win new business.
  • Resolves and oversees customer issues surrounding advisory, new information, and Treasury services, solutions and products.
  • Makes presentations to potential and existing clients and contributes to the achievement of sales targets.
  • Owns the relationship as primary point of contact by working with their respective LOB RMs and leader.
  • Uses Salesforce as a CRM tool.
  • Represents the Bank in civic and community functions.
  • Anticipates emerging customer trends as a basis for recommending products and services and expanding business for the LOB.
  • Provides support to help clients coordinate solutions in an advisory role, manage deposit accounts, offer advice and oversee services provided.
  • Ensures customer questions and issues are answered correctly and efficiently by documenting and identifying trends in customer service needs.
  • Is open to receiving coaching and mentoring as it relates to their role to onboard new primary bank relationships, sell and activate other recommended bank products and services and works closely with the manager of the LOB.
  • Complies with all regulations pertaining to BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, and OFAC.
  • Completes annual BSA training.
  • Reports suspicions of criminal activity, or any attempt to avoid BSA reporting requirements on the part of customers or employees, to the AML/BSA Compliance Department.
  • All other duties as assigned.
