About The Position

The Sr. Relationship Banker is responsible for growing existing customer relationships and acquiring new ones through consistent sales execution, effective lead management, and proactive cross-selling of banking products and services. This role delivers exceptional customer service aligned with the bank's mission statement by engaging clients with professionalism, friendliness, and deep product expertise. The Sr. Relationship Banker demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of all bank products and services, educates customers, handles complex transactions, manages intricate account relationships, and trains colleagues on complex processes as needed. They build trust with customers by presenting a confident and professional demeanor, assessing financial needs, and recommending tailored banking solutions to meet short and long-term goals. This role also involves conducting in-person customer consultations, opening new accounts, discussing loan products, and promoting digital banking solutions. The Sr. Relationship Banker achieves customer service quality standards, participates in and oversees the sales referral process, and assists management in coaching branch staff. They perform all customer transactions efficiently, maintain and balance a cash drawer, and operate various teller and platform technologies. Additionally, this role serves as Vault Teller, managing branch cash levels, ordering currency/coin, and distributing cash to tellers. The Sr. Relationship Banker supports community engagement and CRA initiatives, reports significant matters to management, and maintains a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements. They adhere to the bank's Code of Conduct and all internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to write correspondence and appropriately and accurately demonstrate products and services to customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal - customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills to effectively uncover and resolve complex customer issues.
  • Ability to make sound decisions which include making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
  • Provides deep understanding of Retail Banking and strong Customer Service Skills with the ability to engage customers in conversation regarding products and services.
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and high degree of accuracy. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of branch banking experience with strong platform sales experience.

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person customer consultations to identify opportunities and maximize sales; open new accounts including checking, savings, CDs, and IRAs; discuss and offer loan products; and promote digital banking solutions including online and mobile banking.
  • Achieve customer service quality standards while participating in and overseeing the sales referral process; assist management in coaching branch staff to improve sales effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Perform all customer transactions efficiently using teller and platform technology; maintain and balance a cash drawer; and operate cash machines such as teller scanners, cash recyclers, cash dispensers, and coin machines.
  • Serve as Vault Teller by managing branch cash levels, ordering and shipping currency/coin, and distributing cash to tellers within established limits; act as sole supervisor in the absence of the Branch Banking Leader when required.
  • Support community engagement and CRA initiatives by participating in local events and community programs such as Habitat for Humanity.
  • Report significant matters, issues, or unusual customer activity to management; maintain a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to the bank's Code of Conduct and all internal policies and procedures, ensuring operational and compliance standards are consistently met.
