About The Position

The Relationship Banker I creates relationships with bank customers and prospective customers and provides a range of banking services to individual customers, with an emphasis on personal finances, lending, and customer service. The role involves recommending and cross-selling banking products and solutions based on customers’ financial needs; assisting with account opening and closing; advising on consumer loans and processing loan applications; and supporting teller-line and basic branch operations. The Relationship Banker follows company compliance, security, and operational procedures and completes required training and records.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals, general business correspondence, and/or government regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to maintain simple written correspondence.

Responsibilities

Build and share knowledge of retail bank products, services, and specialty product lines.
Listen to customers’ needs, make appropriate recommendations, and present and cross-sell products and solutions aligned with their financial needs.
Handle functions related to opening and closing accounts, including assisting with account selection, researching customer accounts, and complying with BSA and CIP requirements.
Advise customers on selecting consumer loan products; maintain knowledge of loan policies and procedures; take and enter loan applications into the centralized loan system for underwriting; communicate decisions; and close and fund consumer loans.
Collaborate with associates and other lines of business to make referrals and meet or exceed individual and branch goals.
Maintain knowledge of teller-line functions, including processing transactions, balancing cash drawers, Teller Cash Recyclers (TCR) and vault, and basic branch operations.
Adhere to company compliance guidelines and procedures affecting the Relationship Banker position.
Comply with security and operations procedures, including dual-control functions and records administration, and complete required logs and reports.
Perform departmental documents and activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including completing required compliance training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
