About The Position

The Reinsurance Financial Analyst analyzes, records, and maintains premium, loss, and expense data for ceded reinsurance at Shelter Insurance Companies. The role supports system enhancements, process improvements, and complex reconciliations, while maintaining knowledge of reinsurance principles, business intelligence tools, and financial systems. The analyst also mentors junior staff and collaborates across functions to improve operational efficiency. A Credit Bureau Report may be ordered on final candidates because of the position’s duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; typically required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Workday, the SICS Reinsurance system, and BI reporting tools.
Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and statistical skills.
Proven attention to detail and data accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines while ensuring data integrity.
Ability to follow instructions, accept supervision, and work cooperatively with others.
Typically, a minimum of two years’ experience in the accounting field.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
