About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Accountant to prepare and record complex underwriting and reinsurance journal entries. This role demands precision and adherence to established accounting standards and contract terms. The ideal candidate will analyze and interpret detailed financial data to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet strict reporting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent experience considered
2 to 3 years of accounting experience required, with insurance or reinsurance accounting experience preferred
Experience preparing complex journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed financial reporting required
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet tight reporting deadlines in a fast paced environment
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively and adapt to changing business needs

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with insurance products including Accident & Health, Life, and Property & Casualty preferred
Experience with annual statement software (eFreedom), Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP systems preferred
Basic understanding of insurance company operations and reinsurance concepts preferred
