About The Position

The Reimbursement Specialist performs accounting-related functions involving reimbursement and billing. The role reports to the Accounting/Billing Supervisor and supports the agency’s employment environment, which promotes recovery and discovery, person-centered treatment and services, and cultural competence. The position also provides support to Accounts Payable, Claim Adjudication, and CCBHC Specialists as necessary, and carries out other duties as assigned in a positive, cooperative manner.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
One year of experience working in a related environment.
Knowledge and experience in a Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.

Nice To Haves

Advanced coursework in accounting or computer skills.
Experience and training in billing or accounting-related services.

Responsibilities

Post third-party and other billing payments received.
Follow up on and resubmit rejected and pended third-party billings.
Assist with completing provider enrollment forms for public and private insurance.
Assist in obtaining prior authorizations.
Gather initial demographic and financial information to conduct ability-to-pay (ATP) determinations.
Provide and review annual ability-to-pay redeterminations.
Assist in generating payment plans for delinquent accounts.
Generate reports for staff or providers as needed.
Participate in agency committees as directed.
Enter and maintain direct run locations.
Maintain and update rate schedules as needed in the EMR.
Provide support to Accounts Payable, Claim Adjudication, and CCBHC Specialists as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned in a positive, cooperative manner.
