About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Reimbursement Registration Coordinator, this role is responsible for the coordination of consumer financial data, assessing consumer fees for service, and insurance verification. The position involves updating consumer accounts with coverage plans and external authorizations, and providing assistance with available financial or medical benefits. The clerk will carry out all activities in a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
A minimum of one-year experience in patient registration, medical account billing, accounts payable/receivable, or equivalent with some knowledge of insurance billing system
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to accurately and effectively communicate in verbal and written form
Ability to adapt to the Agency’s software that tracks statistical data, services rendered and bill for services
Possess a valid Michigan driver's license
Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use
Must pass a State of Michigan police clearance check
Ability to cover on-call hours
Ability to utilize close peripheral vision (closer than 20 inches) with the computer terminal for extended periods of time
