The PRN Rehabilitation Technician performs all essential job duties of a therapy technician, including assisting therapists and managers in recording patient treatment logs, demonstrating effective time management, prioritizing patient needs, maintaining equipment and treatment areas, assisting patients with activities of daily living, and preparing for survey readiness. The role contributes to a high-performance work environment by demonstrating professionalism and flexibility. The technician maintains effective communication with ancillary departments and the therapy team, including nursing staff, therapy team members, senior therapists, managers, and directors. Safety awareness regarding body mechanics, patient needs, and transfers is crucial. The technician is responsible for maintaining preventative maintenance logs for equipment, monitoring and maintaining supplies, preparing patients for treatment, and assisting with transfers and patient transport. They also obtain, organize, and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and reporting any equipment in need of repair or replacement. Other duties and special projects as assigned by management are also part of the role. Secondary duties may include assisting in staff orientation and training, educating staff on equipment use, entering engineering work orders, assisting with the departmental Performance Improvement Program, and aiding in communication dissemination to therapy staff.
