About The Position

The Outpatient Pediatric Therapies department at UVA Health seeks an experienced or aspiring Rehabilitation Technician to join our team. The Rehabilitation and Mobility Technician works collaboratively with licensed nursing staff and rehabilitation professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to provide essential patient care support in an outpatient acute care setting. This role functions under the direct supervision of licensed medical personnel and plays a key part in promoting patient mobility and recovery.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• No experience required
• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility activities and therapeutic exercises as directed by licensed clinicians.
• Support rehabilitation sessions and patient care procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
• Manage and maintain rehabilitation and mobility equipment, ensuring availability and cleanliness.
• Promote the importance of early and ongoing mobility to patients and families in alignment with clinical care plans.
• Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions and mobility activities, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
• Actively participate in professional growth activities and maintains necessary skills and competencies.
• Other duties may be assigned.
