About The Position

Under close supervision, cleans and disinfects assigned areas according to prescribed procedures. Assists in preparing equipment for patients' use, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment, and replenishes supplies as needed. Transports patients to and from department as needed and performs general clerical duties such as answering phones, taking and relaying messages, and the like. Assists in wound care and dressing applications and changes in hydrotherapy.

Requirements

Requires a high-school level of communication and/or math skills.
Less than three months of previous experience.
Approximately one to three months of on-the-job experience.
Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by either American Heart Association.
Ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time.
Ability to lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds.
Ability to push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs.
Ability to lift and position patients.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.

Prior Rehabilitation Aide experience.
