About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician will assist the Front Office Coordinators with office upkeep, patient scheduling and translations as needed. This role supports ongoing patient care activities throughout the patient’s treatment journey, from initial intake to discharge, while ensuring adherence to all privacy, safety, and HIPAA guidelines. The technician will also be responsible for scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling therapy sessions, maintaining accurate calendars for therapists, and communicating with parents and caregivers to update patient information.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of prior experience in a fast-paced medical environment, specifically in an intake coordinator or comparable position, is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be Bilingual in Spanish
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills

  • Certified Medical Interpreter
  • Knowledge of healthcare processes, including referrals, authorizations, and legal documentation

Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists in translations for evaluations/treatments.
  • Support ongoing patient care activities throughout the patient’s treatment journey, from initial intake to discharge.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule therapy sessions while maintaining accurate calendars for therapists.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers ensuring patient information is updated.
  • Maintain a neat/tidy appearance in all areas of the suite, returning equipment/supplies to designated areas.
  • Regularly sanitize exercise equipment, therapy materials, and assistive devices according to hospital safety and infection control standards.
  • Maintain medical supplies in all treatment areas.
  • Assist the therapists with delivery, set-up, and clean-up of the treatment area (i.e., patient room, rehab gym) for patient care delivery.
  • Assist in the patient intake process, including managing queue system and securing necessary authorizations.
