About The Position

This position provides support for mental health treatment within an Adult Residential Treatment Center (RTC). The RTC serves individuals aged 18 and older with serious mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities. The role involves creating a safe and therapeutic environment to encourage client independence and well-being, with the goal of helping residents reach the highest level of recovery possible. Direct care staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
• Driver's license with 3-points or less.
• Access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon program needs.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Act as a residential counselor, working one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with a service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation for clients and attend their medical appointments, offering advocacy services and ensuring follow-up instructions are documented and acted upon.
