About The Position

This is a direct care opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment within the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP). The role involves providing a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages the overall independence and wellbeing of clients. Clients in the day programs have access to group activities, individual support, and mental health services. The position requires availability to work 7am to 3pm Monday through Friday in Gaithersburg, MD.

Requirements

High school diploma or a GED.
Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
A driver’s license with 3-points or less.
Access to an insured vehicle.
Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon need of the program.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

Act as a residential counselor working one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
Work as part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments, offering advocacy services and ensuring follow-up instructions are documented and followed through on.
