About The Position

IU Health is seeking passionate, compassionate, and dedicated individuals to join their team as a Rehabilitation Services Technician at their Bloomington Hospital. This full-time position (30 hours per week) involves performing routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of clinicians, assisting with safe patient mobility and positioning, and maintaining cleanliness of treatment areas and equipment. The role also includes participating in operational aspects of the department, maintaining performance improvement activities, and adhering to infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance programs. Additionally, the technician will manage inventory, and may perform scheduling, customer service, and clerical duties. They are also responsible for transporting medications to and from patient treatment rooms.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
Successful completion of the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
Familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures.

Nice To Haves

1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Rehab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Turning over rooms between patients, which includes wiping down mat tables, changing linens, and cleaning/putting away used equipment.
Assisting in patient care as needed, such as assistance with transfers.
Attending to equipment and material logs, ensuring materials are in good working order and not expired.
Participating in operational aspects of the department and maintaining performance improvement activities.
Participating in infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.
Ordering, distributing, and maintaining designated inventory of department-related supplies.
Performing scheduling, customer service, and some clerical duties.
Transporting medications to/from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.
