About The Position

The Department of Rehabilitation Neuropsychology at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is recruiting for a part-time Rehabilitation Psychologist. RHI is nationally ranked among the Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation by U.S. News and World Report for 2024-2025 and the Best Rehabilitation Hospital in Indiana for the third year in a row. RHI provides high quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illness, specializing in brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and providing clinical services to inpatients and outpatients, including diagnostic/assessment services, treatment services, and education to patients, families, and staff. The candidate is expected to work 8-10 hours per week, maintain a weekly outpatient psychotherapy caseload for individuals with neurological/medical issues, and provide coverage for absent staff.

Requirements

  • PhD. or Psy.D. from an APA- or CPA- accredited program
  • Successfully completed fellowship training in Rehabilitation Psychology
  • Indiana license or license eligible

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in Health Psychology or Clinical Psychology or related subspecialty may also be considered depending on the individual's training/experience working with medical/neurological population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Rehabilitation Psychological Services to internal RHI and external referral sources, including psychological assessment, individual and group treatment.
  • Develop and implement treatment recommendations/plans for individual patients and families, integrating age-specific issues as well as clinical rehabilitation needs.
  • Provide patient and family education to rehabilitation patients, including development and implementation of behavior management strategies for patients as well as training and monitoring staff for consistency of application, as needed.
  • Document assessment and treatment services per facility standards.
  • Provide staff education and in-services as needed.
