About The Position

The Department of Developmental Services located at Templeton Community Services (TCS) is seeking qualified candidates for the Rehabilitation Counselor (A/B) position, who will provide direct services for an assigned caseload. Potential candidates must have the ability to compile data, produce daily written documentation, file required reports, while placing an emphasis on the development of meaningful day and employment supports. The candidate will actively participate in department related projects and activities, are responsible for the case management and career development of individuals receiving Day and Employment Support Services and must have the ability to communicate professionally and be sensitive to the social/emotional needs of individuals being served at TCS. Responsibilities also include participating in the planning and implementation of program activities, developing and implementing Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals and assessments, leading day and employment programs to implement identified support strategies, as well as the coordination and planning of work assignments with various groups of Vocational Instructors. This position provides leadership to groups, teaches interpersonal and job-related skills to individuals receiving services, as well as develops forums to communicate with all members of the ISP team. This position supervises a team of Vocational Instructors and will perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • At least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or paraprofessional experience in social work, social casework, vocational counseling, employment counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or educational counseling.
  • Ability to compile data.
  • Ability to produce daily written documentation.
  • Ability to file required reports.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Ability to be sensitive to the social/emotional needs of individuals being served.

  • Medication Administration Program (MAP) certified
