This is a 0.2 FTE position, meaning 16 hours per two-week pay period, with 8-hour Day shifts and every other weekend rotation.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED
• 0 to 2 years in a health care setting

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists.
• Provide hands-on assistance as directed by therapy provider in therapy sessions.
• Provides safe patient equipment, ensures personal safety, and safe work environment.
• Recognize emergency medical situations, symptoms, and take appropriate actions.
• Uses equipment and proper body mechanics to reduce injury to self and patients.
• Uses communication techniques that reflect attention to age, cultural and population specific needs of the patient and family.
• Support department functions.
• Thoroughly documents relevant cleaning, maintenance, O2 tank status, and crash cart checks.
• Activities may include patient transport to and from department, transfers, escorting patient to treatment room or gym when appropriate, supervise patients on equipment, and perform modality set-up based on training.
• Complete equipment cleaning, stocking, and ordering as appropriate.
• Participates in program development, professional practice, and quality teams as requested.
• Promotes rehabilitation services.
• Assist front desk. May include answering phones, scheduling, copying, filing, calling patients, outcomes management, and medical records functions as training security allows.
• May assists with the orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
• May ensures appropriate patient education information is supplied and orders as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
