About The Position

Assists therapists, in an outpatient or inpatient care setting, by providing individual treatment for a variety of diagnoses and presenting symptoms. Requirements

Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR, or obtain within three months of hire.
Ability to read, write, and explain or describe basic information.
Must focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Completes inventory for supplies and orders as needed and stocks department appropriately.
Operates all department medical equipment including whirlpool, wound care equipment, oxygen tanks, and other physical agent modalities.
Assist with filing, copying, and other clerical functions.
Prepares, maintains, and cleans up treatment areas following patient care.
Completes orientation in home department and cross training to cover patient care in other departments as requested by manager.
Ensures wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and all other department equipment is cleaned according to hospital policy.
Assists with proper patient transfers to ensure safety for patients and therapists.
Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
Demonstrates competence in age-specific patient care.
Performs other functions as assigned.
Completes morning physical therapy patient assignments in EPIC (inpatient setting only).
Ability to collect basic patient vital signs such as SpO2, blood pressure, and respiratory rate (inpatient setting only).
In addition to individual treatment, provides self-care information to patients (inpatient setting only).
