About The Position

Frederick Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Aide (Rehabilitation Aide) to support their hospital acute therapy team. The role involves patient interaction, assisting with therapeutic exercise programs, understanding physical and occupational therapy treatment procedures, working with rehabilitation equipment, learning about hospital acute operations, and supporting medical documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital acute setting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to fulfill the weekend and holiday requirements

  • Previous rehabilitation, therapy clinic, or healthcare experience
  • Students pursuing careers in: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Other healthcare professions

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists during patient treatment sessions
  • Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities as directed
  • Prepare treatment areas before and after appointments
  • Maintain, clean, and organize rehabilitation equipment and rehab area
  • Stock supplies and treatment areas
  • Assist with patient flow
  • Monitor and organize therapy equipment
  • Support therapists with daily clinical operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to every patient and visitor
