The Rehabilitation Aide is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members. As a Rehabilitation Aide your typical day will impact the following ways: • Following the rehabilitation and mobilization program of residents as directed by the treating physiotherapist. • Incorporating rehabilitation routines into recreation programs as directed by Director of Resident Programming. • Providing teaching and demonstrating methods of proper rehabilitation and exercise to residents, families and team members. • Submitting assessments for annual Care Conferences or Individual Program Plan. • Maintaining an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies and report malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the Director of Resident Programming. • Providing input into planning and evaluating rehabilitation / recreation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Director of Resident Programming. • Reporting and recording any concerns or changes in the resident’s functional and cognitive behaviour to the direct care team. • Maintaining an attending roster for statistical purposes. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduate.
  • Recreation therapy or rehab aide degree/diploma is required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Long Term Care.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR-C.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.

  • Additional training in mobilization and rehabilitation.
