About The Position

Rehabilitation Aide UPMC Williamsport | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Are you passionate about helping others and interested in being part of a collaborative rehabilitation team? UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Rehabilitation Aide to support patient care alongside our Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy professionals. In this rewarding role, you'll help patients throughout their rehabilitation journey while gaining valuable experience in a healthcare setting. You'll work closely with therapists, patients, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and safe treatment experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing patient and departmental needs
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Ability to read and understand medical documentation
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and excellent customer service
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA-compliant with skills demonstration)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting Clearance
  • Act 33 Clearance
  • Act 34 Clearance
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Therapy Technician, Rehabilitation Aide, or Nursing Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy staff with patient care activities and treatment preparation.
  • Escort and transport patients safely throughout the facility.
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain a clean, organized therapy environment.
  • Set up patients and equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Monitor and communicate patient needs and responses to the clinical team.
  • Welcome patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide administrative support.
  • Maintain therapy supplies, linens, and equipment.
  • Support department operations by completing documentation, data entry, and clerical tasks.
  • Assist with the orientation of new rehabilitation aides and therapy volunteers.
