About The Position

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized Rehabilitation Department environment. Assists Physical and Occupational Therapists with patient care activities, treatment preparation, equipment management, and other departmental responsibilities. Performs patient care procedures and therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist. The Rehabilitation Technician II may assume additional advanced responsibilities upon successful completion of department-approved training and demonstrated competency as outlined in the Technician Skills Checklist. Performs all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, such as Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Health Education, Health Behavior, or a related discipline; or Bachelor's degree in any field with completion of prerequisite coursework required for admission to a healthcare professional program (e.g., Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or Nursing); or Five (5) years of experience as a Rehabilitation Technician with Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of the Rehabilitation Department to ensure a safe and efficient patient care environment.
  • Assist therapists and therapy assistants with patient care activities, treatment preparation, and other departmental functions.
  • Perform patient care procedures and supportive therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of a licensed clinician.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide support appropriate to the age and needs of the patients served.
  • Apply basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and rehabilitation modalities in support of patient care services.
  • Provide support in a variety of rehabilitation settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and aquatic environments.
  • Independently lead aquatic and wellness classes for community members at designated CDS locations.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while contributing to a positive patient experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
