About The Position

A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life. Rehabilitation Technicians are responsible for assisting clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life and function. As a Rehab Technician at IBJI, you’ll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Currently enrolled in school or graduate of at least high school.
  • Must be available for 25-35 hours per week to work afternoons and evenings.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds to weight height
  • Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
  • Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  • Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
  • Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
  • Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  • Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program.
  • Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  • Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  • Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
  • For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  • Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
  • Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
  • All other duties as assigned.
