About The Position

Assists in carrying out patient-related activities which are pre-determined for each patient and assigned by the professional physical therapist. Responsible for the preparation, application, and clean-up of the hydrotherapy area. The Rehab Services Technician reports to the Clinical Coordinator and receives direction from the Staff Physical Therapists.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.
Must be able to lift at least thirty (30) pounds independently and at least one-hundred fifty (150) pounds with assistance of another person.

Nice To Haves

Experience in health field preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Assists with patient treatment preparations, including informing the therapist of patient's arrival, assisting patients with forms, escorting patients to the treatment area, and assisting with dressing/undressing and positioning.
Assists the physical therapist in administering hydrotherapy.
Under the direction of the therapist, assists patients in the safe practice of activities related to the development of strength and endurance.
Under the direction of the therapist, assists patients in ambulatory training procedures as assigned.
Assembles equipment and accessories.
Performs/monitors selected procedures and/or programs which are commensurate with his/her training and are assigned by the physical therapist.
Keeps treatment areas/gym set up neat and orderly.
Maintains established levels of supplies and directs any need for supplies to the attention of the Physical Therapist or Clinical Coordinator.
Strips treatment tables of used sheets and pillow cases and replaces with clean covering.
Assists patients to and from the department, as necessary, or arranges for Volunteer Department assistance.
Participates in educational programs and In-Service meetings.
Performs duties as assigned in absence of secretary with appropriate cross-training.
Provides age appropriate care to neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer's needs, and taking the initiative to maintain communication to provide a secure and pleasant experience.
