The Rehab Occupational Therapist is responsible for performing initial evaluations and periodic re-evaluations of clients. This role involves designing treatment programs, establishing occupational therapy care plans based on evaluative findings, and administering treatments under physician's orders. The therapist will provide education to patients, caregivers, and others, and prepare written documentation for home use. Key aspects of the role include maintaining open communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals, coordinating client care, interpreting results and treatment goals, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with department policies and procedures. The therapist must also maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and JACHO standards, file accurate charge/mileage records, and foster a positive working environment. Additionally, the role involves supervising supporting personnel such as Home Health Aides and certified occupational therapy assistants, participating in clinical record audits, and performing other assigned duties. Non-essential functions include participating in promotional activities for the Home Health Department and communicating positively about services to the public.
