This full-time position supports the efficiency of the Licensed Therapy Provider and the smooth functioning of the rehabilitation department. The role involves direct patient contact activities under the supervision of a licensed provider, such as patient positioning and transfers, preparation and application of therapeutic modalities, follow-through on routine patient exercises, assisting with crutch walking and gait training. The Rehab Clerical Aide improves therapist efficiency by starting patient treatments when patients are overlapped and utilizing other problem-solving strategies. This role requires strong communication skills with patients and therapists, anticipating needs, and conveying patient status changes and responses to treatment. Additionally, the position handles registration, scheduling, cashiering, admitting, and follow-up of patients to ensure efficient and courteous care. It also involves coordinating patient appointments, performing reception/clerical duties (answering phones, messages, greeting, registering, scheduling, billing, faxing, photocopying, assembling records, mail handling), reviewing therapy orders in the electronic medical records system, maintaining department files, processing billing/reimbursement forms, completing insurance verifications and authorizations, tracking reauthorizations, monitoring the therapy environment for patient experience standards, ordering/stocking/organizing supplies and equipment, stocking and disposing of linens, monitoring and troubleshooting office equipment, cleaning and disinfecting areas and equipment, and performing routine maintenance/safety checks.
