Rehab Assistant - Part Time
About The Position
Western State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), is seeking a part-time Rehab Assistant. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions within the psychosocial treatment program. The assistant will provide open leisure programming available to all patients and on-unit programming on admissions units. Key responsibilities include conducting 4-6 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per week, ensuring interventions are appropriate to individual clients' ages, interests, and abilities, tracking patient attendance and participation for weekend programming on admission PCU, and completing planning and evaluation forms related to programming. The position requires demonstrating competency as a psychosocial rehab facilitator and making arrangements for coverage when unable to work assigned schedules.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of therapeutic interventions within the psychosocial treatment program.
- Provide open leisure programming available to all patients of Western State Hospital.

- Ensure that interventions are appropriate to individual clients' ages, interests, and abilities as reflected by assessment data.
- Track patient attendance and participation for weekend programming on admission PCU.
- Complete planning and evaluation forms related to programming.
- Demonstrate competency as psychosocial rehab facilitator by obtaining passing score on staff competency summary.
- Make arrangements for coverage with other part time and P-14 staff when unable to work assigned schedule.
