About The Position

Integrated Care Solutions NRIO, a division of Bayshore HealthCare, offers community-minded, progressive brain injury rehabilitation focused on empowering individuals to enhance their quality of life. They utilize a person-and family-centered care (PFCC) approach, ensuring respectful, compassionate, and culturally safe care. This part-time position involves providing supervision and support to individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABIs) at a residential rehabilitation site and with community clients. The role focuses on engaging clients in daily functional rehabilitation and meaningful activities to support goals such as increasing independence, community reintegration, and social reintegration. The position is part-time with fluctuating hours based on client census.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary studies in social sciences or healthcare related areas
  • G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, access to a vehicle and the proper insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is required
  • Availability to work on weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights and some holidays.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, disinhibition)
  • Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively with a team
  • Willingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, light cleaning, advocacy, and therapy implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical capability to bend, stretch, lift
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks within set timeframes

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries while assisting them with increasing levels of independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a particular time)
  • Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelines
  • Follow the designed rehabilitation program as accurately as possible
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs); performing personal care, medication management, various forms of transfer tasks, housekeeping
  • Accompany clients on community outings as needed via external transport services or your own vehicle
  • Utilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies
  • Collect required clinical data through documentation, tracking, etc.
  • Complete research to assist with enhancing client programs
  • Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
  • Provide flexible availability (evenings, weekends, overnights, occasional holidays)
