About The Position

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and supportive Rehab Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering treatment programs as prescribed by regulated healthcare practitioners, supporting adult and/or pediatric clients to achieve their maximum potential. Key duties include carrying out prescribed treatment plans, documenting client progress, and reporting outcomes to healthcare providers. This is a part-time, home care position requiring 2-3 days of consistent Monday to Friday daytime availability, involving approximately 15 visits per week. The role serves the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph areas.

Requirements

Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant College Program.
Enjoy dealing with people and working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
Ability to be self-directed and take direction.
Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email.
Commitment to continual learning.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

Will also consider a university degree in kinesiology and/or the possession of a RRP or CCRC designation.

Responsibilities

Implement personalized rehabilitation programs in collaboration with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Speech and Language Pathologists.
Promote maximum independence for clients at home, in the community, and at work to support their re-integration.
Conduct engaging exercise programs and group exercise classes.
Implement effective behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s needs.
Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living, along with social, educational, and vocational re-integration plans.
Implement cognitive therapy programs to enhance clients’ cognitive abilities.
Promote and organize enjoyable leisure activities for clients.
Attend case conferences and team meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
Drive clients safely as needed (with valid insurance coverage).
Understand and implement infection prevention practices to maintain a safe environment.
Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.
Complete additional tasks as requested to support client care.
