About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Rehab Aide in Inpatient Therapy. The role requires reliable and punctual attendance, effective communication, and the ability to administer rehab aide walking programs as directed by staff therapists. Key responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, maintaining patient medical records, ordering and stocking adaptive equipment, and ensuring patient and family are treated with respect and dignity. The position also involves managing and operating equipment safely, maintaining departmental cleanliness, preparing and cleaning treatment areas, and recording treatment revisions. The Rehab Aide must be flexible, organized, and able to function under stressful conditions, while maintaining good working relationships within and between departments. Participation in performance improvement activities, documentation standards, and various training programs (infection control, safety, fire safety) is expected. The role also includes training personnel and assisting therapists with therapy-related tasks within the scope of practice. General duties include willingness to work rotating weekends, fill in at other rehabilitation department facilities as needed, and maintain patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality.

  • Maintain patient medical record forms, evaluations, and educational handout material
  • Assist in record keeping of patient files, invoicing, and claims billing
  • Communicate any changes in condition (physical or mental) to staff therapist, nursing, and other facility personnel, as appropriate
  • Order, stock and maintain accurate records of adaptive equipment, inventory
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity
  • Is sensitive to psychosocial needs of patients and family
  • Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
  • Maintain departmental cleanliness and safety
  • Interact professionally with patient/family
  • Prepare and clean treatment areas for patient use consistently
  • Perform final cleaning at close of department, in preparation for first morning patient
  • Record treatment/service revisions in accordance with departmental policy
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful conditions
  • Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments
  • Consult other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities
  • Participate in and maintain performance improvement activities for department and organizational CQI activities
  • Meet current documentation standards and policies
  • Participate in educational staff performance improvement in-services
  • Assist with orientation and in-service training for certified department staff members
  • Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs
  • Participate in community based programs
  • Train personnel utilizing on-the-job training for nursing and other hospital staff, as well as departmental staff
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled
  • Complete work within designated time
  • Assist therapist with therapy related tasks such as, but not limited to treatment setup, cleanup of equipment, pushing patients wheelchair, etc. within the scope of practice
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends for inpatient hospital care as assigned
  • Offer willingness to fill in at all rehabilitation department facilities when staffing patterns require
  • Maintains patient/resident/employee privacy and confidentiality at all times
