About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine exercises or follow-up of functional activities (direct patient care) under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist or therapy assistant. Essential Responsibilities: Assists therapists and nursing staff with direct patient care as needed by turning, positioning, transferring or ambulating patients. Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for injury by implementing safety interventions or using appropriate ambulatory assistive devices. Sets up appropriate equipment as directed for therapy treatment session; wipes down all surfaces with appropriate antibacterial solution. Puts away all supplies at the end of session. Is available on pager to all therapists, therapy assistants and nursing staff to provide necessary equipment at bedside as requested. Performs regular sweeps of all patient areas to locate ambulatory assistive devices and returns them to their proper location. Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks as directed, including using the computer, copier, fax machine and telephone. Orders Durable Medical Equipment from vendors.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • New hires will have 60 days to provide BLS certification.
  • Certification has to be with the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
