Assists in the oversight of supplies and provides physical assistance to the professional staff and department in fulfilling the mission of Rehabilitation Services of providing quality and cost-effective care to patients. Assists in maintaining department cleanliness, supply stock, and regulatory readiness. Assists in the provision of rehabilitative services under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Employees employed by YNHH effective 9/12/2012 as a result of the acquisition of the Hospital of St Raphael may meet educational requirements with the applicable combination of education and experience and demonstration of current competences.
• Previous work experience as an aide and/or other health care experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required within two months of hire.
• Must be able to accurately read and use metric measurements, calibrate and report findings on equipment.
• Basic computer skills required for data entry, email, and Mobile Heartbeat.
• Capable of taking phone messages and operating office equipment to copy, scan and fax documents.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Job requires dexterity to perform support services for the therapist.

Responsibilities

• Conforms to Hospital and Department Policy & Procedures and the principles of Service Excellence.
• Adjust his/her work schedule to accommodate for busy periods.
• Works under the direct supervision of a therapist, following instructions and acting within department policy.
• Prepares patients of all ages for treatment and assists with patient care in all areas of the hospital under the direct supervision of the responsible therapist.
• Maintains necessary equipment and supplies; ensures a clean, neat and orderly environment.
• Assures that workplace is cleaned regularly.
