About The Position

This is a multipurpose position in which duties range from carrying out basic patient care tasks as directed by a licensed therapist to overseeing a variety of operational activities for the department. As a Rehab Aide, you will assist with patient care by performing tasks under the direction and immediate supervision of a licensed Therapist. You will also assist with patient treatment with therapeutic exercise, functional activities, and/or modalities according to therapist direction. Reporting to the therapist of record on patients status, progress and/or tolerance to therapy is crucial so that the therapist can modify the treatment plan/goals as necessary. You will supervise and monitor patients for safety and ensure patients are never left unattended. Performing assigned cleaning duties is essential so that treatment areas and equipment are maintained according to infection control guidelines. Transporting patients safely and in a timely manner without patient identification errors is also a key responsibility. Preparing patients/equipment for treatment according to therapist/assistant instruction and effectively utilizing critical thinking when problem-solving are expected. Recognizing self-limitations and taking initiative to seek additional resources or consultation, and successfully completing departmental competencies/audited skills are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
  • Ability to interact with people of all ages, required

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in a medical field, such as, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or other equivalent training, preferred
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred
