About The Position

This is a Full Time, Selected Exempt Service Position within the Division of Medical Quality Assurance, Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation, Board of Nursing. The position is open to all qualified individuals. The salary range is $40,474.72-$43,000 annually. The posting closing date is 06/24/2026.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of seven employees, including hiring, training, evaluating, and directing their work.
  • Manage and monitor the workflow for the Board of Nursing Administrative Support Team, which handles inquiries via phone, email, and chat for various nursing professions, as well as mail intake and processing.
  • Oversee administrative tasks such as Voluntary Relinquishments, Refunds, Exam Verifications, Visiting Nurse Permits, Affidavits, Volunteer Renewal Waivers, Reactivations, and Pearson Vue eligibility issues.
  • Lead by example by adhering to the department's dress code and behavioral policies.
  • Ensure pre and/or post agenda preparation activities are completed accurately and timely, including material distribution, calendar maintenance, and notice dissemination.
  • Communicate with Prosecution Services, Office of Attorney General, and other parties to address agenda issues.
  • Ensure public agenda materials are posted online at least 7 days before meetings and minutes are posted online within 10 days.
  • Maintain Board/Council member appointment files, contact information, webpage updates, and attendance records.
  • Update and maintain the list of Declaratory Statements on the Department's website.
  • Coordinate PCP meeting times with board members and PSU staff, communicating any schedule changes.
  • Ensure board staff attend PCP meetings by telephone conference and capture minutes accurately.
  • Serve as the Balanced Scorecard owner for the preparation and posting of draft minutes.
  • Monitor daily call volume and wait times, ensuring calls are answered timely and the call center is adequately staffed.
  • Observe staff bi-weekly to verify acceptable customer service.
  • Monitor staff email responses for correct grammar and content.
  • Meet with direct reports to provide constructive feedback on performance and behavioral issues, documenting discussions via email and implementing corrective action when necessary.
