About The Position

The Regulatory Specialist II is a valuable cornerstone of the Regulatory Team. It helps provide critical support to Lyons Magnus in the markets where it has a business interest, including domestic and international accounts. It supports the accurate and timely creation of technical documents, assists with technical customer support and the maintenance of Lyons’ various special interest compliance programs. It plays a crucial role in the organization of Lyons’ Regulatory information.

Requirements

  • Read and comprehend technical documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to independently problem solve complex situations.
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision to drive assignments through completion.
  • Effective written and verbal technical communication with internal and external customers that do not have technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams within and across company departments
  • High Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel and Word.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One to 3 years' work experience in Technical Information, Quality Assurance and/or Food Manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in food science or nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and organizes technical document for Lyons’ products, in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and the standards and principles of nutritional and food science.
  • Synthesizes, documents and communicates regulatory information, within defined areas, including ingredient records, product formulations, religious compliance, organic, and other special interests.
  • Works closely with R&D Scientists, Commercialization, Sales, and Customer Service to regulatory requests in a timely manner.
  • Generates and communicates basic nutritional and labeling statements to customers and government authorities where Lyons Magnus has a business interest.
  • Prepares, in timely manner, required Domestic and Export documentation.
  • Exceeds internal and external customer’ expectations for documentation within required time lines.
  • Actively leads the fulfillment of requests for the department for key Lyons customers.
  • Develops a knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents.
  • Performs other related and duties assigned by the manager.
  • Supports the mission, values and vision of the company and maintains the best interest of Lyons Magnus first and foremost.
