About The Position

A Regulatory Compliance Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that data center liquid cooling products within the company adhere to all relevant electrical safety and regulatory standards, including design, testing, and documentation, by collaborating with various engineering teams to support new product development and product sustainment, manage testing processes with third-party labs, and maintain necessary certifications to market the products globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other related field
  • Familar with specifications, codes, and standards used in commercial HVAC and datacenter industries such as safety, electromagnetic compatibility, low voltage, and environmental (RoHS, REACH, WEE) directives including but not limited to: IEC-62368, IEC-61000, UL/CSA 60335, EN55032, EN55035.
  • Familar with FCC, CE, and NEC and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • 0-3 years of related professional or internship experience required
  • Located and able to work in greater Buffalo, NY area

Nice To Haves

  • Electro-mechanical aptitude and familiarity with piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment preferred.
  • Able to communicate clearly in verbal and written form to internal and external customers and to practice discretion when communicating appropriate information to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficient with MS Office 365 for creating tables, charts, and inputting data into templates.
  • Able to travel ~15% annually
  • Effectively performs assignments, often with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and specifications.
  • Determine compliance by establishing compliance test standards, conducting and witnessing tests, performing diagnostic procedures, measuring performance, analyzing and evaluating findings, and performing forensic analysis and troubleshooting of failures.
  • Document compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing investigative reports, preparing, and filing Declarations of Conformity, and maintaining compliance database.
  • Organize compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and acquiring resources including in-house testing, 3rd party test houses, and Nationally Recognized Test Labs (NRTL).
  • Work with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical problems, improve system features, and capabilities.
  • Work with Engineering teams to ensure certification reports and records are up to date.
  • Provide support for production facility compliance inspections.
  • Investigate sources of special equipment, material, or devices and obtain quotes and prepare requisitions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
