About The Position

The Regulatory and Compliance Specialist will support compliance activities for natural gas transmission pipeline systems. This role is responsible for helping ensure adherence to applicable federal and state pipeline safety regulations and will report to the Regulatory Compliance Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, work experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in pipeline compliance
  • Experience and proficiency with managing and organizing documentation and records
  • Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision
  • Possess written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations; including, but not limited to, 49 CFR 191, 192, 195, and 199.
  • Knowledge of Texas Railroad Commission regulations; including but not limited to, 16 TAC Chapters 3, 7 and 8

Responsibilities

  • Periodically review procedures and work practices for regulatory alignment and assist with the development of corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
  • Serve as a liaison to PHMSA and applicable state pipeline safety regulatory agencies to facilitate pipeline safety inspections, investigations, and audits
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of required regulatory reports in accordance with Federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure that recurring scheduled maintenance is completed and documented on a timely basis
  • Review external state and federal agency audit findings and provide recommendations for internal procedures and/or compliance manuals
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements
  • Communicate regularly with Operations and Engineering teams to address potential areas of risk, provide guidance, and offer expertise on local or federal regulatory codes
  • Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
